Size: 3" x 4" - Deep birch board panel (hanging hardware attached)
I love using used stamps. I had been cutting up maps to use in another project and this little snippet looked like a boat. And the flag on the stamp - that must be the mast and sail. Of course - HMS Shaganappi Trail.
The substrate on this one was completely white, so when I dragged the blue across it, a few skips reveal the white underneath. I think I used the super technical tool of a gift card. The yellow did a lovely skip & jump as well. I had put a little bit on the card, and dragged it down the middle.
The most fun is the coral reef at the bottom. I started with yellow and white, most likely left over from another painting, and laid the painting tool directly onto the painting and lifted it up, creating those little veins in the paint that look like fronds. I loved what I saw so I grabbed the red and did the same technique.
It's a pretty little painting, perfect for a small spot in your office or little corner in your home. I love that these deep birch board panels stand on their own, or can be hung on the wall with just a push pin to hold them up.
