Size: 3" x 4" - Deep birch board panel (hanging hardware attached)
How much fun is this? I was lucky enough to get a box of non-Canadian stamps and I had some ephemera with these big words on them. It was like it was begging to be put in a painting. You can see a little bit of a map in the deep background. I did a transfer and then painted overtop of it, starting with dark oranges and yellows. The green paints were pretty dry so it took a bit of work getting them to glide down, since they wanted to stay at the sides, in all their chunky fabulousness.
The third piece of mixed media is from a paper pack, and I cut it out with a punch of a little bunting flag. The word was covered with a bit of pencil crayon in the yellow and green before being plastered down with structure gel. Totally unintentional, but the circle on the stamp almost follows a line into the painting - at least to my eye it does.
It's a pretty little painting, perfect for a small spot in your office or little corner in your home. I love that these deep birch board panels stand on their own, or can be hung on the wall with just a push pin to hold them up.
